We do not handle contested cases and will not be acting as zealous advocates in an adversarial proceeding. We handle uncontested cases only (as well as difficult or missing spouses). If a case becomes contested or adversarial we will withdraw from the representation. We rely on the facts as presented to us by the client. We do not conduct an independent investigation of the facts and do not engage in any discovery (no document requests or reviews, no interrogatories, no depositions or witness interviews). We do not handle emergencies or time sensitive cases. We try to expedite every case as a matter of course and are unhappy if any case is with us more than 30 days. Yet, some things are beyond our control (a judge's schedule, for instance) and may affect the timing of when the case is concluded. We do not send our clients monthly bills. We do not participate directly in the negotiations between the spouses and will not communicate directly with other counsel or parties.
We do an awful lot; and for most people it's more than enough to get the divorce they want, when they want it.
