1. If you qualify, you hire us and pay our flat fee of $399. You will immediately be given a client identification pass code to access the secure working part of this website, so you can get started right away. We will promptly return by email a signed copy of our limited legal services agreement to you, which is when you will know we're your lawyer.

2. You complete and exchange financial affidavits with your spouse. It's mandatory. No exceptions.

3. You complete our Florida Divorce Questionnaire on line, which is stored in our secure server and accessed by you after you log in using your personal client pass code. We walk you through your important legal issues: how to divide your stuff and about alimony. Questions? No problem, our lawyers are here to answer you questions. Need advice? No problem, our lawyers will talk to you and offer advice when you ask.

4. We prepare your marital settlement agreement and all other required court papers and get them to you within 24 hours. You and your spouse sign them, have them notarized, and you get them back to us, along with a copy of your Florida driver's license (or other proof of Florida residence), the financial affidavits and a cashier's check payable to "clerk of court" for the filing fee (it's about $364 everywhere in Florida, give or take a few bucks, and we will let you know how much it is, depending on which county we file in).

5. We promptly file your case and then work on getting the final judgment signed, which could take as few as 20 days from the time the case is filed (or longer, depending on the judge and his/her practice and procedures.

  • Some cases may be eligible for consideration by the judge without the need for a formal hearing in court, meaning you will not have to come to court. We make sure the paperwork in those cases gets to the judge without delay so that the divorce can be finalized. A copy of the final judgment of divorce is mailed to you and your spouse after the judge signs it.

  • Other cases require a very short hearing in court. We schedule the hearing, let you know when and where it is, prepare you (what to wear, where to stand and what to say) and one of our lawyers will attend the final hearing with you. The judge, after considering your testimony, marital settlement agreement and the rest of the court papers, will grant your divorce (so long as everything's in order and to the liking of the judge) and will sign your final judgment of dissolution. You and your spouse will get copies. That's it. Divorce over.
That's how we do it. We make sure your divorce is handled properly so that your divorce is quick, efficient and effective and at a price you can afford. With DivorceYes! you can afford a Florida lawyer to handle your divorce. No need to turn to "paralegal" or document preparation services or to the court self-help center, none of whom can give legal advice, sign your papers, go to court for you or offer real piece of mind. Let us help you. Hire us today.
